Are you right for Amber?

Amber came into rescue as a stray and found kennel life overwhelming at first, sometimes barking or spinning when she heard people nearby. She's since moved into a foster home where she's really come into her own - she's calm around the house, sleeps soundly, is house-trained and has adapted quickly to a home routine.

She generally walks nicely on the lead and harness, her foster carer is working on pulling when other dogs are around, with a clicker and confidence building. She's a little underconfident at first and particular about who she bonds with, so needs an adopter willing to give her time and patience. But once comfortable, she's incredibly loyal. She's a very bright girl who loves training, has fantastic focus, and particularly enjoys scent work and enrichment games; she's also shown promise in agility. Off-lead in a secure space, she loves a good run and playing with squeaky toys, then settling down with a natural chew (beef tendons are a favourite!).

Is Amber right for you?

Amber is looking for a home where someone is around most of the time, as she thrives on companionship and being part of the household. She would prefer to be the only dog in the home and couldn't live with small animals. She could live with children aged 14+, though an adult-only home may suit her best, and a secure garden would be important so she can run and play safely. Her adopter would need to carry on with Amber's training and confidence building.
