PETE

Are you right for Pete?

Pete spent his whole life in racing kennels before coming into rescue, so many everyday things are still new to him. He's a friendly boy who loves being around people and enjoys spending time with the volunteers, with gentle fuss among his favourite things.

He can be a sensitive soul and the world sometimes feels overwhelming, but he's made lovely progress with patience and encouragement. He can get excited and jump up when meeting new people, though the team are helping him learn to keep all four paws on the floor. He walks nicely on his harness and lead and enjoys a good run in the secure exercise area.

As a greyhound, he has a strong chase instinct and couldn't live with small furries, though he could potentially live with a calm greyhound after successful introductions. During a foster stay, he was startled by sudden noises and found being left alone difficult, becoming destructive when worried, so he needs a home where someone is around most of the day to help him build confidence gradually.

Is Pete right for you?

Pete is looking for a calm, patient home where he can continue learning at his own pace. He'll need a secure garden with high fencing to safely stretch his legs and explore, and someone around most of the day to support him with being left alone.
