RIZZO

Are you right for Rizzo?

Rizzo came into rescue when her previous family realised their busy household wasn't the right fit. Life there was overwhelming and she wasn't getting the structure, exercise and mental stimulation she needed.

Since coming into rescue, she's worked with the volunteers using positive training and made lovely progress. Training is one of her favourite things, and she's always keen to learn; she especially loves herding a football, a great outlet for her natural collie instincts. She enjoys walks, exploring and sniffing, and loves to run and play in a secure space. Like many sensitive dogs, loud or unfamiliar noises (vacuums, vehicles, wheeled objects) can worry her at first, though she's made great progress building confidence with patience and positive training.

She enjoys people's company once she trusts them, but isn't a dog who needs constant fuss, she's happiest with something to focus on and a clear routine. She can sometimes be a little protective over certain items, and the team are helping her learn to share through positive training.

Is Rizzo right for you?

Rizzo is looking for a calm, structured home in a semi-rural or rural location where life moves at a gentler pace. She would do best as the only dog in an adult-only household, with someone who understands working breeds and enjoys training and enrichment activities. A large, secure garden will be important so she can safely run, play and practise her favourite games.
